Unek Chuyar is a tengu accountant. His family were killed during a raid on the docks they owned, and to receive his ancestral sword, a katana named Zephyrus, he set off on an expedition to Jalmeray. After being kidnapped by Okeno slavers en route, Unek was freed in the Okeno prisonbreak of 4722AR.

History

Unek grew up on his family's docks along the eastern coast of Katapesh.

Loss of his home

I seek to reclaim my family swords. The first, a katana named Zephyrus, was stolen by the bandit crew who raided the docks my family owned. The second, a wakizashi named Eurus, was stolen by the slavers who boarded the ship I was taking to Jalmeray.

In 4722AR, Unek's family's docks were raided by a crew of gnoll bandits. Unek's immediate family was slain, and the bandits also stole Zephyrus, the ancestral katana of his family.

Personality

Unek is calculating and keen-eyed, though this sharp mind does not stop him from caring for the remnants of his family. He often uses idioms slightly incorrectly, as much of his language was picked up in the constantly shifting context of his family's docks.
