Unek Chuyar is a tengu accountant. His family were killed during a raid on the docks they owned, and to receive his ancestral sword, a katana named Zephyrus, he set off on an expedition to Jalmeray. After being kidnapped by Okeno slavers en route, Unek was freed in the Okeno prisonbreak of 4722AR.

Unek grew up on his family's docks along the eastern coast of Katapesh.

Unek is calculating and keen-eyed, though this sharp mind does not stop him from caring for the remnants of his family. He often uses idioms slightly incorrectly, as much of his language was picked up in the constantly shifting context of his family's docks.
