Early Vocabulary
Bebop grew up in Murraseth in central Garund, with lackadaisical parents who imposed very few rules on the household. He grew up in a house with much of his extended family, and his grandfather and grandmother were part of the Circle of Lifeshapers, a polymath bard and healer respectively. As such, art was pretty much the only thing encouraged in the house, passed down from his grandfather, inspiring Bebop to take up the lute. His natural affinity for music, although unorthodox approach to harmony, transformed its way into magic when he singed his cousins whiskers off during the climax of a drawn out improvisation. His grandfather delighted in his barding ability.
His grandmother taught him to lull the young ones to sleep through playing and this set Bebop on his way to refining his magic. He studied with his grandfather until they had an artistic disagreement when he was around 19, his grandfather preferring the old styles whilst Bebop wanted to pave a new way. At this point that he heard news of an Andorran with a cutting edge playing style and unorthodox instrument who had been invited to play for a Blood Lord in Geb. He decided to make the long journey, convincing a wizard to teleport him some 1,000 miles in exchange for a performance at his son's birthday party to quicken the journey.
Tough "Crowd"
Sneaking into the performance Bebop was quickly outed as not being undead, but the Andorran, Miles Armstrong, saved his life by saying he was his student. After the performance Miles tried to ditch Bebop, saying he'd done enough for him, but, mesmerised by his playing, Bebop followed Armstrong the entire way back to Andorran, pestering him for lessons for long enough that he actually started giving them to him.
Learning from the Greats
After a few more years of study in Andorran and many performances of his own, Armstrong kicked Bebop out of his home once and for all, instructing him to only come back when he'd seen more of the world as his improvisation had gotten stale. Also because Armstrong's, now pregnant, wife had always objected to Bebop's presence in the house.
As he was walking out of the house he decided to return home to show his grandfather how much he had improved, hopefully finding a willing wizard in need of birthday party entertainment on the way.
