History
Time in the Fangwood
Irel comes from the southern portion of the Fangwood, in the country Nirmathas. Many of Irel's ancestors fled to the First World before Earthfall, but most were unable to return due to the closing of pathways upon their arrival. As a result, Irel hails from a small elven community, all with strong links to the First World from the few returning elves who rebuilt their community.
A Divine Compass
Irel fought against the Darkblight caused by corrupted dryad Arlantia in her devotion to the demon lord Cyth-V'sug. After being attacked by one of Arlantia's corrupted dryads, Irel was only saved from blight stricken into his arm by the divine intervention of Ketephys, who used the moon's light through the usually dense cover of the Fangwood to stun the dryad and sear the blight from his arm, leaving a prominent scar. A hawk descended from the gap in the canopy and flew a path for Irel's escape. After this moment of divine grace, Irel devoted his life to walk in the footsteps of Ketephys.
Learning of Ketephys' hatred of Treerazer, son of Cyth-V'sug, Irel found renewed vigour in his fight against the Darkblight. He tended for Nirmathi soldiers and fey with his newfound divine blessings.
Moving On
After the defeat of Arlantia by the combined forces of the Accressial Court of fey and the Nirmathi militias, feeling the remaining blight could be handled by the Accressial Court, Irel began his nomadic journey in 4717 to protect nature afar.
Having come to the Isle of Kortos by boat, Irel had been maintaining the health of the nearby forest of Immenwood.
Physical Description
Irel, or Releal to non-family members, is 6'6" with short, emerald green hair and stark white eyes, their pale skin looks in some areas to have bark-like consistency. They have a prominent black scar running over the veins on their hands to halfway up the veins of their bicep. He has a white feather sticking out from his hair, and a longbow slung over his back with a quiver stuffed full of arrows. He wears a simple black cloak over rustic brown garments with some intricate green stitching and has a wooden pendant hanging from his neck that depicts a hawk on a crescent moon.
Personality
Somewhat of the classic aloof elf, that isn't to say Releal doesn't care strongly for his friends and community: quite the opposite. Releal is eager to help liberate and guide the lost, steering people towards a life of freedom and choice through the lense of his worship to Ketephys, who, in mirroring them, empowers Releal to accept all.
