Vae is a Kasathan paranormal investigator who has spent much of her life gathering knowledge and learning about so-called "Outsiders" - creatures from planes other than The Material.

Vae received word through one of her professional contacts that there had been paranormal occurrences on a planet called Jedarat. Upon conducting some research, she discovered that Jedarat orbits a small yellow dwarf star called Vose 303, located out in The Vast. Vae also managed to discover that Jedarat is currently the subject of a joint development project by AbadarCorp and the Xenowardens.

In her attempts to procure transport, she discovered a freighter owner called Captain Viltruzen is preparing to depart on a voyage to Vose 303. He is taking her in exchange for Vae's knowledge as a Mystic should the need arise.
