Soumral is a prospective student of the Magaambya who seeks to join the Rain-Scribes.
History
Soumral grew up in a traditionally arcanist family of elves in Pashow, Thuvia. He spent much of his first century of life as an apprentice to his father, a chirurgeon. Whilst it was interesting work, soon enough Soumral felt a need to step away from the constraints of family life.
Time in Nex
Desiring a greater knowledge of the mystic arts, Soumral travelled to Nex, where he took up the tradition of Nexian Mystics. He studied in Quantium for a year, but soon grew tired of the strictures of academia. So it was that Soumral left behind his academic pursuits, and set up a small alchemy stall on the city streets. He lived happily in Quantium for many years this way, mixing up his mercantile efforts with offering services as a private investigator.
During the course of trade, Soumral often found it was beneficial to be open to bartering as well as strictly coin-backed transaction, and it was through bartering with the leader of a trade caravan from Alkenstar that he came into posession of Moryana, a beautiful brass-plated jezail.
Journey to Nantambu
Eventually, Soumral grew tired of his life in Nex, and resolved to recommence his arcane studies as a student of the Magaambya. He made the hard journey to Nantambu, but Soumral was unfortunately forced to pawn Moryana in order to scrape together enough funds to live in the city whilst the Magaambya processed his application.
Personality
Despite his academic skill, Soumral is passionate and adaptable, always keen to learn new things with an open mind. He has a sharp eye for detail, and will scry lengthy tomes as quickly as he can pick off targets with a bow or rifle. However, he often struggles to find balance between the practical and theoretical pursuits in his life - at one time becoming lost in a text, and blasting past important details at another.
